The Hancock Fire Company and Hancock Rescue Squad held their annual Awards and Installation Banquet, Feb. 17th at the Hancock American Legion. An excellent steak dinner was prepared and served by the legion staff. Much kudos to them.
Unlike last year when Md. Delegate Leroy Myers Jr. was the only politican present, this year we had several in the audience. Hancock Mayor, Councilman and Town Manager attended as well as U. S. Senator Barbara Mikulski's representative Julianna Albowitz. The County was representated by EMS Coordinator Bridgette Heller (who also presented a resolution signed by the commissioners recognizing Chief Ernie Truax; Verna Brown, county Emergency Management Coordinator and Becky Maginnis, Risk Management Coordinator. Most of our surrounding fire and rescue companies also attended. Everyone enjoyed the program and the dance afterwords.
